The broadcast in England of an animated trailer promoting Over the Rainbow during the final moments of The Time of Angels has attracted over 5000 complaints as of Monday afternoon.

Today, a BBC spokesman was quoted as saying:

The trail should not have been played out on Saturday. We apologise to all Doctor Who fans whose enjoyment of the show was disrupted. We recognise the strength of feeling that has been expressed and are taking steps to ensure that this mistake will not happen again.

The fifteenth National Television Awards took place at the O2 in London on the 20th January, and the world of Doctor Who did well once more! The series itself received its fifth consecutive award in the Drama category, whilst actor David Tennant once again won the award for Drama Performance.
